H&W releases 6.2 version of SYSB-II software

H&W has announced the release of the 6.2 version of the SYSB-II software, a system tool for IBM mainframe computers that allows VSAM batch processing during the business day, without impacting CICS online activity.

The new features of this release include:

  • A Grace mode that allows SYSB-II to be installed on an unlicensed system for 15 days for disaster recovery situations and disaster recovery testing.
  • Proactive notification that the license expiration date is approaching so the license can be renewed, ensuring that service is not interrupted due to an expired license.
  • Support for TCP/IP recovery processing. With this change, SYSB-II no longer requires VTAM LU2.

Support for SYSB-II release 5.0.x ends June 30, 2008 (login required).

For a complete list of new features for SYSB-II 6.2, H&W customers can review the New Features Summary 6.2 document in the Customer Support section of the H&W Web site (login required). Customers can order the new release by contacting H&W at support@hwcs.com or 1-208-377-8436.

  • A new WebTek Pipeline API for .NET that enables application developers to more readily use the Pipeline capabilities with the .NET framework.
  • Microsoft header support to improve results for Internet Explorer.
  • A Pipeline persistent session for trusted users that eliminates the need to authenticate repeatedly.
