File Transfer utility
When building the HTML templates for Web-aware and 3270-bridged CICS applications, it's likely you will reference GIF, JPEG, CSS, and other Web-based file types. Uploading and managing these files on CICS using traditional tools can be difficult. WebTek eases this process by providing an FTP-like utility for managing Web files on CICS.
In addition to copying files, the File Transfer utility provides file comparison, viewing, and deleting functions to allow developers to quickly determine which files are current and which are in need of updating.
Once copied to CICS, files can be linked and served to any Web page, theme, dynamic display, or template. The path consists simply of the host name and port of the CICS region where WebTek runs, a WebTek mnemonic, and the file name.
What is the WDK?
The WebTek Developer Kit (WDK) is a collection of Windows-based development tools to help you create applications that access CICS data served by WebTek. The WDK includes utilities for:
- Copying files between a workstation and CICS
- Viewing available WebTek components
- Testing HTTP responses
- Managing doctemplates
The WDK is available for download from the WebTek Tools interface.
